Scientists have long known we could detect imbalances in the subtle energy field before it was apparent in the physical body. We could interpret this to mean that imbalances actually begin in the energy system. All of the tissues and organs in the body produce magnetic vibrations referred to by scientists as "bio-magnetic fields." One example of this type of field is the vibration of the heart -- it is so strong that it can produce an accurate EKG reading three feet away from the body.

During my healing process, I started doing something every day to make sure I was balancing my energy system. In my opinion, it is one of the most powerful things I did, and you can do for your health on a consistent basis. Although I have been well for over 5 years now (woohoo!), I still do it every day and am convinced it is part of what keeps me healthy.
If I could only do ONE thing for my health a day.....
It would...
Working with clients every day, I regularly hear that peopleâs doctors have told them this: âYou are the worst case Iâve ever seen.â
Does this sound familiar to you? If so, read on.
Knowing what I now know about healing, and from being a practitioner myself, Iâd fire any doctor who told me that. Why?
Emotions are awesome and help us feel alive, experience life, relate to others and so much more. The term âemotionâ itself is derived from the Latin word âemovere,â which means âto moveâ but, trouble comes when our emotions donât move and become stuck â the experience of prolonged feelings long after an event. We then feel our emotions intensely, often permanently; and they become a form of stress, wreaking havoc on the immune and nervous systems.
âI donât want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them.âÂ

Dr. Bruce Lipton, PhD, cellular biologist and author of the New York Times Bestseller The Biology of Belief, concluded that 95% of all illness is created by stress.
Stress that creates the most problems does NOT come from the things like rushing to get to work, having too much laundry, ...
I get this question all of the time and the answer is always: do whatever you can or nothing at all for now. When you are stuck, you can use any tool you know how to useâŚor you can cry and eat ice cream and do some graceful begging or chanting (from the book, How To Heal Yourself When No One Else Can).
I used to get stuck in very bad places in my journey and eventually realized that everything is a season. It passes and moves and ebbs and flows. And you must just ride with it.
In the FEAR chapter of How To Heal Yourself When No One Else Can, there are many simple and effective techniques that will help. Choose a couple a day and use them for a few minutes.
What is happening in the body when we are stuck and miserable? Our body is in resistance mode; and that includes resistance, even to positive change. In our energy system, it means that our triple warmer meridian (the âpapa bearâ or âfight, flight or freezeâ energy in our system) goes into overprotective m...
Iâve been hearing from a lot of you who are scared, upset, and feel like your whole world is changing because of the election results. There is so much post election emotion and anxiety right now. So, I want to attempt to make this a tiny bit better for you.
Will you let me? Ok, cool! Here we goâŚ
Hereâs what I think you should try:
Donât lose your power. Donât hate the world and your fellow voters and everyone now who has you feeling this way. Do not victimize yourself by allowing your whole life to be overturned by something external. And I want to note here that I say this as a person whose personal life may be directly affected by this election result, too (I have one of those pesky âgay marriagesâ many people donât like). So I do understand. But, you will not feel better if you ruin your own life or inner peace by pointing to someone else who seems to be ruining it. It just wonât work.
Do this: Here is a super quick video t...
Many of you know Iâm not a huge fan of the standard positive affirmations out there, because for some people, they can actually make things worse. (Read how in my article Why Positive Affirmations Can Make Things Worse).
BUT, all hope is not lost as far as using positive healing affirmations for a successful self-help tool. Affirmations are most effective when they hold some type of truth or resonance for you. For instance, the affirmation âI am healthy and full of energyâ is a great idea, but can cause subconscious resistance if you donât actually feel that way. Itâs most likely a far reach from where you currently are, or you probably wouldnât even be trying to use an affirmation like this, right?
When I was healing from chronic Lyme disease and other autoimmune conditions, I read so many positive healing affirmation books that ended up in a pile on the floor. While I understood the concept, the affirmations were just too âout thereâ and unattainable for me. I needed a way to âinch...
The most important thing to know about money is that feeling good about it â no matter how much (or little) you currently have â can change everything for you.
When we can't immediately change our circumstances, it's important for our lives to at least change our energy about those circumstances.
For years, I struggled with little money, worrying about it constantly, and watching it leave my bank account faster than it came in thanks to copious medical bills. I had always been a believer in focusing on the positive, but I never got how wanting more money could actually block that very thing.  But, I get it now. If you are sending out any fear-based vibrations about money, including feelings of lack, it's hard to allow money (which is just a form of energy!) or the opportunities that bring it to flow into your life. Bruce Lipton, author of Biology of Belief, has done some amazing work that demonstrates that our though...
There has been so much shifting going on in our world lately that many of us are finding we feel angry and frustrated with both ourselves and each other. I sure know I've been much more aware of my own strong emotions lately.
So what can we do when we feel out of control with anger, resentment, frustration and unease? When we feel so emotionally triggered that we lose our own center? How can we be more compassionate instead of more resentful of those around us that may trigger us?
It's not always easy, but with some simple tools and techniques, you can practice finding your center when you are emotionally triggered.
Here are a few ways I get close to compassion when it feels like a difficult feat.
It's super easy to discount our feelings. None of us like to be mad or frustrated, at ourselves or others. But sometimes we need to be. We need to fully feel our big strong feelings in order to let them go. That may mean admitting to yourself that y...
Oh it's not easy, I know. Trying to figure it all out and still keep the faith that it'll all be okay. I went through this myself for 8+ years so I completely get it (read my story here). I must have asked myself a million times that looming question: Why me? Why I wasn't healing, why I couldn't just take Vitamin B like the girl I met in the doctor's office waiting room that told me it was her miracle cure, why meditate and make it all go away?
I've learned that for some of us it just doesn't work that way.
Because some of us are just meant to take these long, winding journeys that force us to come back to ourselves.
We need to break open, break out, break down, and then rebuild into a space that feels better to us than we would have ever done without massive challenge. Let's face it -- we're the type who would have just kept pushing through if not for a roadblock the size of Mt. Rainer, right? Y...
The Universal Law of Attraction and all of its complexities was a very tough concept for me to grasp when I first started learning. I resisted it because so much of it was downright scary - wait, I'm in charge of everything that comes to me?! No thanks! Fast forward a few years and I'm an adoring fan, but boy was it a learning curve. As I help clients grow in their healing and spirituality, I often share my thoughts on the Universal Law of Attraction with them. And, they have the best questions!
(If you are new to the principles of the Universal Law of Attraction, I highly recommend reading this article first: The Basics of The Law of Attraction and Why Hating It Won't Work).
The same three question seem to repeat from clients and instead of give them MY answer, I turned to an amazing mentor, Shannon Sheridan of Thrival Living, and asked her to dish the scoop. She's what I call a hero on the topic.
Q:Â In terms of the Universal Law...
